| The 1,072-bed Southern Nevada Detention Center will house federal inmates and detainees for the United States Marshals Service and will have more than 230 employees with an annual payroll of $15 million. The $80 million facility, on 70 acres north of Pahrump, is expected to be open in October, 2010, and will make Corrections Corporation of America one of the largest employers in Nye County. The last two pictures above show the view from the detention center site on Mesquite Avenue back to Highway 160. |
